South Africa with Rockwood Conservation – A Purpose-Driven Hunting Experience

If you’re looking for a hunting experience that goes beyond the trophy — one rooted in conservation, real impact, and unforgettable memories — I can’t recommend Rockwood Conservation in South Africa enough.

I just wrapped up my second trip with them, and once again, it was nothing short of incredible. From the moment we arrived, Wicus, Yevette, Brian, Christopher, Auburn, and the entire Rockwood team made us feel like family. Their hospitality, knowledge, and deep commitment to wildlife set the tone for a trip that was not only successful in the field, but meaningful in every way.

Let’s be clear: hunting and poaching are not the same.

Rockwood is living proof of what ethical, regulated hunting can accomplish. In 2013, they had 45 rhinos. Today? That number has grown to over 422 — and they’ve gone 10 years without a single poaching incident. That kind of success doesn’t happen by chance — it’s made possible by conservation-focused hunting and the support of people who care.

What sets Rockwood apart:

• 100% of each animal is used — meat from every harvest feeds staff, hunters, and local communities.

• Over 48 jobs are supported directly (trackers, drivers, cooks, rangers, and anti-poaching teams) — and countless others indirectly.

• They help fund Voetspore van Hoop, a local school that feeds 80 children each week with donated game meat.

• Every hunt is conducted with respect — no pressure and full transparency. You’ll never be pushed to shoot something you don’t want to.

Every hunt had a purpose. Every animal had a story. Nothing was wasted.

This wasn’t just a trip — it was a reminder that responsible hunting can help protect the very species we care so deeply about. I came home with more than just memories — I came back with a renewed sense of purpose and appreciation for conservation done the right way.

Florida Charters – All Goods Adventure with Sammy (Lake Okeechobee Area)

If you’re looking for a fast-paced, action-packed outdoor experience in Florida, All Goods Adventure with Sammy is the way to go. Based around the Lake Okeechobee area, Sammy offers unique hunts like iguana hunting, python hunting, and bowfishing — and trust me, he knows his stuff.

Sammy is a fun, laid-back guide who brings the laughs while making sure everyone is safe, engaged, and having a great time. I had an awesome experience bowfishing and iguana hunting with him. He was patient, knowledgeable, and made the whole trip enjoyable from start to finish.

This trip is great for all ages and especially perfect for groups. If you’re not into sitting in a tree stand and prefer a more fast-paced, hands-on adventure, this is absolutely for you.
